About AIN Publications
Founded in 1972 by aviation editor James Holahan and publisher (now Managing Director) Wilson S. Leach, The Convention News Company (now branded as AIN Publications) published its first issues of NBAA Convention News at that year's National Business Aircraft Association Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio. While still publishing NBAA Convention News each year, the company has expanded its offerings to include on-site daily publications at the annual Heli-Expo (HAI Convention News) and European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE Convention News) and international airshows in Farnborough, England; Paris, France; Dubai; and Singapore.
The company also publishes Aviation International News, a much-respected, monthly trade publication widely called "AIN," which covers news, features, special reports, aircraft evaluations and surveys on business, commercial and regional aviation worldwide, and a twice-weekly electronic newsletter, available by e-mail, AINalerts (www.ainalerts.com), which focuses on the same topics as Aviation International News.
While AIN is written for a technically oriented pilot and aviation industry audience, AIN Publications’ bi-monthly print publication, Business Jet Traveler, is written for the users of business aircraft—those riding in the cabin. Published since 2003, BJT provides these readers with the information they need to maximize their investments in private air transport. In July 2008, the company published the Premier Edition of the Business Jet Traveler Buyer’s Guide.
Business Jet Traveler’s Web site is BJTonline.com. In conjunction with the launch of the redesign of this Web site in July 2008, the company also introduced BJTtv.com, which is produced in conjunction with AINtv.com (see below).
AINonline.com, the company's official Web site, includes articles from all these printed publications as well as original news written specifically for it.
AIN Publications produces four electronic newsletters: AINalerts (www.ainalerts.com), AINmxReports (www.ainmxreports.com), AIN Air Transport Perspective and AIN Defense Perspective. The company's other Web-based product is AINtv.com (www.aintv.com). AINtv provides daily video news reports from the conventions and airshows where The Convention News Co. publishes on-site issues, as well as reports between these shows.
