Bizav Prepares to Support Football Fans at Super Bowl

Super Bowl XLVIII is approaching, and the bizav players are ready. Fractional provider Netjets has scheduled an invitation-only Manhattan bash for share-owners that will feature a concert by a major recording star. New York City-based Wheels Up is also organizing events and has reserved every room in Soho's James Hotel for its members. In addition, major business aviation FBOs and manufacturers have put plans in place to support their operators who will be in the New York area for the game. Here, the details:

Beechcraft's quick-response team (QRT) will be on call to support Hawker and Beechcraft customers. The support staff will be at Hawker Beechcraft Services in Wilmington, Delaware, while technical representatives throughout the region will be available for immediate response to an AOG (Aircraft on Ground) event or other service requirements. The QRT can draw on the resources of the entire Global Customer Support network, which includes parts and maintenance resources. Operators can call the QRT at (866) AOG-HELP (264-4357).

Bombardier will dispatch two mobile response parties (MRP) to the area. Staffed by an avionics technician and a maintenance technician, each MRP will be equipped with tools and diagnostics equipment for all Bombardier business aircraft. Bombardier will also have two onsite field service representatives and will dispatch additional support from its Hartford, Connecticut service center as required.

Dassault is dedicating extra technical-support personnel and Falcon go-teams before, during and after the Super Bowl. The Dassault headquarters for Western Hemisphere customer support—and the company’s largest Falcon spares depot—is at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, the main business aviation gateway to the Super Bowl.

Embraer Executive Jet Services will dispatch its mobile repair unit from Windsor Locks, Connecticut. An Embraer AOG crew is immediately available by calling (860) 308-3672 or sending an email to [email protected].

Gulfstream will offer enhanced technical support. In the days leading up to, during and after the Sunday evening event, the company will have seven field and airborne support team (FAST) technicians operating between the Jet Aviation FBO at Teterboro Airport and a yet-to-be-determined FBO at Westchester County Airport in White Plains. The technicians will be able to address mechanical, avionics and/or interior issues, and can work directly out of two of the company’s specially outfitted FAST maintenance vehicles. The vehicles, which will be positioned at Teterboro and Westchester airports, will include parts/materials, tooling and ground-support equipment.

Signature Flight Support is preparing its four area FBOs (in White Plains, New York and in Teterboro, Morristown and Newark, New Jersey) for Super Bowl-related traffic. Signature's $11 million facility at Newark International Airport (EWR), which opened just last month, offers a 39,000-square-foot hangar, an 11,200-square-foot terminal and three lounges, including a separate VIP area.
