The holiday season always causes some anxiety as I worry about getting appropriate presents for everyone on my list. This year, though, I compiled BJT’s annual gift guide, so I have more good ideas than usual.

Going, Going, Gone: Vanishing Americana, one of my favorite books, offers compelling evidence of how fast our world is being transformed. On page after page, we see products, services, vocations and styles that once seemed integral to daily life but have nearly or completely disappeared. Remember milkmen? Carbon paper? Phone booths? Drive-in movies?

We’ve just returned from Shanghai, where we distributed the Chinese-language version of our BJT Buyers’ Guide at the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition. I’m pleased to report that demand for the magazine at ABACE proved even greater this year than it was in 2012, when it also attracted plenty of attention.
