“You’re absolutely right—and you can’t stand up in your [expletive] Rolls-Royce, either.”
Up Front: June 2013
We’ve just returned from Shanghai, where we distributed the Chinese-language version of our BJT Buyers’ Guide at the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition. I’m pleased to report that demand for the magazine at ABACE proved even greater this year than it was in 2012, when it also attracted plenty of attention.
The 2013 ABACE show was, in fact, a smashing success for everyone involved, and the National Business Aviation Association deserves a standing ovation for its hard work and attention to detail. Walking around the show it was impossible not to feel the excitement that goes with being on the verge of something big. Despite the challenges that lie ahead in the region, no one can dispute that China represents a rapidly growing new frontier for business aviation.
At BJT we could not be more thrilled about being part of this frontier.
We try to always fill Business Jet Traveler with content that makes it worth packing the issue in your suitcase. In my opinion, this edition is particularly strong, because it contains such a variety of entertaining, informative and provocative material.
I had the extraordinary privilege of sitting in on editor Jeff Burger’s interview with Daymond John, and I walked away both star-struck and exhilarated. Those of you who watch ABC-TV’s Shark Tank, which also features former BJT cover subject Mark Cuban, will likely know what I mean when I say Mr. John is an inspiring and brilliant entrepreneur.
You won’t want to miss the letters from our readers in reaction to Jeff’s online opinion piece. Another must-read is our Second Annual Book of Lists. Some of the lists offer valuable information; others are simply fun; and many others inform and entertain.
Please keep your letters coming. We want to hear it all–both the positive and the critical–and we remain grateful for your insights, support and readership.
P.S. Please don’t forget to fill out our Readers’ Choice Survey to share your thoughts about private aviation. The survey is in its third year, and we know from direct communication with manufacturers that the results are highly valued and considered. Completing the poll will take you less than 10 minutes at BJTonline.com/survey.
