Airframer Embraer entered the business aviation market in 2000 when it announced the Legacy 600, which it had derived from the ERJ-135 regional airliner. Taking a similar approach with the larger E-190/195, the Brazilian manufacturer has created the Lineage 1000.

Flexjet, Bombardier's fractional ownership subsidiary, has announced a program that offers its shareowners the opportunity to offset carbon emissions each time they fly. Climate Care, an offset provider and a division of J.P. Morgan's environment markets group, has been selected as Flexjet's partner in the initiative.

Wondair On Demand Aviation, an executive charter and aircraft management company in Valencia, Spain, since 1990, has launched fractional ownership, jet card and corporate shuttle programs. All of these operations will initially employ Wondair's three Cessna CJ1s and one Citation Ultra. Next August, the company will begin adding to the fleet a mix of 36 Embraer Phenom 100s and 300s.

Cessna Aircraft has delivered its 100th Citation Mustang. The buyer, Thai businessman Supap Puranitee, had put a deposit down on the very light jet the day the program was launched at the 2002 National Business Aviation Association Convention. The first Citation Mustang entered service in April 2007 and Cessna delivered 45 of them by the end of that year.

Business aircraft maintenance, modification and completions firm Stevens Aviation recently delivered its first Lear4Ever-an upgraded Learjet 35. For $2 million and six months of downtime, the Lear4Ever program provides upgrades, retrofits and modifications intended to modernize and extend the life of 20- and 30-series Learjets.
