Bringing a soiled brand back to life is never easy—particularly with airplanes. You can count the successful revivals on one hand, most notably Bombardier’s triumph with Learjet. Now, with Sikorsky’s help, Eclipse Aerospace is poised to join this elite fraternity. Production of the Eclipse 550 is scheduled to start this summer.

Production models of Gulfstream’s new, near-supersonic flagship G650–which received FAA certification on September 7–have been rolling off the assembly line and winging their way to completion centers. The manufacturer expects to have the $64.5 million, 7,000-nautical-mile-range bizjet into the hands of customers before the end of this year.

Bombardier's Learjet 85
This year, Bombardier will launch one of the most ambitious flight-test programs in business aviation history. The Learjet 85 is scheduled to enter service next year and as many as five conforming aircraft could make their first flights in the coming months.
