Air Platinum Club Apparently Defunct

When Miami-based Air Platinum Club began operating last summer, CEO Mickael Cohen proclaimed that "private air travel is here to stay." Yes-but the club might not be. Only a few weeks ago, it was touting flights within the continental U.S. and between Paris and major U.S. cities on company-owned Gulfstream GIV-SPs. And it said members would have access to the club's 50-foot yacht, exotic sports cars and beachfront condo. Now, however, its Web site is no longer accessible without a password and a recording at its listed phone number reports that the line has been disconnected. An attorney for Prestige Motorcar Imports of Miami confirmed to BJT that the company is suing Air Platinum Club for nonpayment. The club has already been successfully sued by Swiss charter company Travcon, whose president Philipp Zürcher told BJT that "up to now we did not get any funds due to problems getting money out of Cohen." Chicago-based Questar Jets' owner Dennis Jans, meanwhile, told BJT that Cohen owes him $96,750. And court records show that Air Platinum Club was evicted as a tenant from North Miami Business Park last January. BJT has been unable to reach Cohen for comment.
