Bizav Flight Activity Still Increasing

Business aircraft flight activity jumped 8.5 percent in March from a year earlier, according to aviation services firm ARG/US. On an adjusted month-over-month basis, traffic climbed 12.9 percent from February. Midsize jet travel gained the most, with a 13.4-percent increase from year-ago levels, followed by light jets, up 10.6 percent; large-cabin jets, up 5 percent; and turboprops, up 3.8 percent. FAA Part 91 flying increased 11.5 percent from the same period last year, while Part 135 charter activity rose 5.5 percent and fractional flying climbed 4.7 percent. Midsize-jet activity at both Part 91 and 135 operators soared by more than 16 percent year-over-year, and Part 91 light-jet traffic increased nearly as much at 14.6 percent.
