Hard Times for Hawker

Hawker Beechcraft has reported that its business and general aviation segment recorded $2.3 billion in sales last year, down from $2.8 billion in 2008. The company delivered 253 business aircraft last year, down from the 338 in 2008. Among last year's deliveries: 20 Hawker 4000s (up from six in 2008); 35 Hawker 900XPs (down from 50); three Hawker 850XPs (down from 15); 13 Hawker 750s (down from 23); 11 Hawker 400XPs (down from 35); 16 Premier IAs (down from 31); and 155 King Airs (down from 178). Backlog at the end of 2009 was $3.4 billion, compared with $6.6 billion in late September, reflecting cancellations by NetJets that were reported in December.
