P.180 Avanti II Turboprop Set for Takeoff in Russia

Italian aircraft manufacturer Piaggio Aero has announced that its popular P.180 Avanti II has received type and production certificates from Russia's aviation authorities. "This now opens the way for our first aircraft deliveries in the Russian Federation," said Alberto Galassi, Piaggio Aero CEO. The company bills the fuel-efficient Avanti II as the world's fastest turboprop aircraft. It has a maximum speed of 402 knots, a range of just under 1,500 nautical miles and a stand-up cabin.
