Bradley S. Klein lives in Bloomfield, Conn., home of the Wintonbury Hills Golf Course, which he helped create with a design by Pete Dye. Klein, a former PGA Tour caddie, holds a Ph.D. in political science and was a well-published scholar in international relations before he retired early from university life to devote himself full time to golf writing, mainly for Golfweek magazine. He has written five golf architecture books, including Discovering Donald Ross. Klein was a design consultant on Old Macdonald, the fourth course at Bandon Dunes Resort in Oregon. "Golf writing is a good excuse to write about landscape, culture, and people's character," he says.
