Airbus Helicopters H125 Overview

Airbus Helicopters H125

The Airbus Helicopters H125 is a light, single-engine rotorcraft developed from the Eurocopter AS350 Écureuil. The model traces its lineage to 1975 and has been a top-selling light rotorcraft for decades. The Écureuil family of rotorcraft (AS350, AS355, AS550, AS555, H125, H125M, EC130, H130) has collectively resulted in sales of more than 6,600 airframes to over 2,000 operators in nearly 120 countries.

The helicopter is prized for its hot-and-high performance as well as its capacity to serve in multiple roles. Missions include aerial work, emergency medical services, law enforcement, passenger transport, and private aviation. The H125 offers high performance in a small package, with a six-passenger capacity, 4.5 hours of endurance with standard fuel tanks, and multiple configurations regardless of mission. The ACH125 broke the record for the highest altitude landing and takeoff, performing the act atop Mt. Everest at an altitude of 29,029 feet.

Airbus Corporate Helicopters offers a luxury variant of the helicopter, with extended range and a selection of interior spaces.

Performance

Powered by a single Safran Arriel 2D engine generating 847 shaft horsepower, the H125 flies at a maximum cruise speed of 140 knots and achieves a maximum operating altitude of 23,000 feet—among the highest figures for any rotorcraft regardless of class. Range with standard 960-pound fuel tanks is 340 nautical miles, equating to 4.5 hours of endurance. Maximum takeoff weight and useful load are 4,960 and 2,152 pounds, respectively.

Dimensions

Cabin volume is 105.94 cubic feet, allowing for either one or two pilots and six passengers. The aircraft offers three-passenger transport configurations, ranging from four to six seats, with the latter allowing for only one pilot.
