Avfuel Forges Biofuel Deal

Through the agreement, Avfuel will become the exclusive aviation fuel distributor for sustainable fuel producer Gevo.

Industry fuel supplier Avfuel has boosted its sustainable-fuels offerings with the signing of an agreement with biofuel provider Gevo. Under the deal, which takes effect July 1, Avfuel will become Gevo’s exclusive sustainable-jet-fuel dealer for business aviation, at the locations it serves.

The agreement will help Avfuel meet customer demand for a low-carbon, sustainable alternative jet fuel (SAJF), thus filling a gap in the industry’s supply chain, according to company owner, president, and CEO Craig Sincock. “Gaining reliable access to product that’s currently in limited supply was an important benchmark for our alternative fuel initiative,” he said. “Our agreement with Gevo is a notable component in our overall strategy to support our industry’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions and enhance sustainability to mitigate its effect on climate change.”

His company provides fuel for business and commercial aviation. Meanwhile, he fuels the company with enthusiasm.

With the agreement in place, Sincock added, his company will now turn its attention to the matter of logistics, such as deciding where the SAJF will be blended, and how much of the Avfuel network it will be distributed to in the coming years.

Keith Sawyer, Avfuel’s manager of alternate fuels, played a significant role in drafting the "Business Aviation Guide to the Use of Sustainable Alternative Jet Fuel," which was released last month. Through this deal, the company has taken another step to put that plan in action, he added.
