Bizav Flight Activity Declined in July

Business aircraft flight activity declined 2.4 percent in July, compared with the same month a year earlier, according to Aviation Research Group/U.S., which tracks serial-number-specific arrival and departure information on all IFR (instrument flight rules) flights in the U.S. Small-cabin jets suffered the smallest decline of any aircraft type (1.8 percent), while turboprops witnessed the greatest drop (6.4 percent). Part 91 flying declined 4.1 percent and Part 135 (charter) flights dropped 1.4 percent, but activity at fractional operators gained 1.4 percent. Fractional flights by large jets were down 11 percent, however.
