By the Numbers: The bizav airport advantage

Supporters of business aviation often point out that there are more than 5,000 airports in the U.S. that are accessible by general aviation aircraft. But that figure includes everything from large international airline hubs to tiny grass strips. For a better comparison, we compiled a list of airports that are suitable for use by business jets and turboprops-those with paved runways that are 4,000 feet or longer. The full list includes 2,787 airports. Of these, only 128 are large, medium and small hub airports used by airlines. Not shown in the figures below are airports in U.S. territories.
