CAN Fundraiser at NBAA 2017 Gaining Traction

Funds from the event will help CAN continue its work to arrange flights for cancer patients to and from treatment.

The Corporate Angel Network’s annual fundraising event at the National Business Aviation Association's annual convention has a new format this year—a cocktail reception/networking event/auction fundraiser from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Las Vegas Wynn Hotel on October 11. According to CAN and the NBAA, the new format allows all show exhibitors and attendees to participate in the fundraising event while also participating in other functions that evening.

The two-hour Fund an Angel cocktail reception will consist of an ongoing silent auction, as well as live auction with items that include private guest passes to the AT&T Pro AM Golf Tournament in Pebble Beach, donated by Gulfstream; an ADS-B installation for a Cessna Citation, donated by Duncan Aviation; an off-road Stampede all-terrain vehicle, donated by Textron Aviation; four advanced flight-training courses, donated by FlightSafety International; and first- and business-class airline tickets coupled with resort destinations around the world.

Funds from the event will help CAN continue its work of arranging flights for cancer patients to and from treatment. CAN coordinates more than 225 flights each month and has arranged more than 53,000 patient flights since 1981. Last year’s auction raised some $400,000 for CAN's operating budget.

Additional items donated for auction this year are being accepted, and books of 10 tickets are available for $1,500.
