Duncan Aviation Adds Ohio Mobile Engine Unit

Based in Columbus, the rapid response unit can handle anything up to an engine swap.

Duncan Aviation has expanded its aircraft engine support in Ohio, with the addition of new rapid response mobile engine unit based at John Glenn Columbus International Airport. The unit, Duncan’s 16th, will offer area operators more convenient access to mobile engine services, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, AOG (Aircraft On Ground) support, and engine changes.

“We are well known in this area for high-quality aircraft maintenance and committed customer service,” said Bill Otte, Duncan’s regional manager for the East-central U.S. “Operators here are smart in how they fly, and have been steadily increasing their flight hours, which increases their need for convenient engine services. Having a launch site here improves our response time and reduces travel-related costs for operators.”

The unit is manned by engine technician Jon Watson, who has been with the company since 2011. Since this latest assignment, he has been visiting with local customers and informing them of the services now in their neighborhood. “Columbus is a strategic location,” Watson said. “I’m only two hours from Cleveland and Cincinnati, an hour from Dayton, and not too far from the East Coast. The truck is packed and I’m ready to go as soon as I get the call.”
