Embraer Cracks Open Bizjet Market in Argentina

The country is also a ripe replacement business aircraft market, as about 80 percent of the 170 Argentina-registered business jets are 10 years or older.

Two Embraer Phenom 100s recently started operations in Argentina, marking the debut of Embraer Executive Jets in the country’s business aviation market. These first Argentina-registered jets will operate on both charter and private flights. More than 340 Phenom 100 light jets are in service worldwide, with more than 100 in Latin America alone.

“We are thrilled with the initial operations of the Phenom 100 jets in Argentina, a market that is showing signs of recovery,” said Gustavo Fonseca, Embraer Executive Jets’s vice president of sales in Latin America. The country is also a ripe replacement business aircraft market, as about 80 percent of the 170 Argentina-registered business jets are 10 years old or older, a company spokesman told AIN.

Meanwhile, Argentina’s aviation authority, AdministraciĆ³n Nacional de AviaciĆ³n Civil de Argentina, last month approved Embraer Executive Jets’ service center in Sorocaba, Brazil, to perform maintenance on Argentina-registered aircraft. In addition, an Embraer authorized service center in Buenos Aires will soon be similarly approved.
