Last month, Gulfstream Aerospace flew one of the super-midsize twinjets from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria, to Cape Verde’s Amílcar Cabral International Airport, off the northwest coast of Africa. It performed the 1,858-nautical-mile (3,441-km) journey in 3 hours, 52 minutes, averaging Mach 0.84.

Later that same day, the G280 flew from Cape Verde to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 6 hours, 40 minutes. The jet flew at an average speed of Mach 0.82 for the 3,011-nautical-mile (5,576-km) trip. Gulfstream president Mark Burns noted that it achieved this despite “flying into strong winter headwinds.”

Earlier in the month, the G280 flew from Lanseria International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, to Lagos in 5 hours, 31 minutes. The 2,596-nautical-mile (4,808-km) trip was completed at an average speed of Mach 0.83.
