Honeywell Softens Business Jet Forecast

Engine and avionics manufacturer Honeywell Aerospace continues to foresee a healthy appetite for business jets through the next decade, despite the current woes of Wall Street. The company's near-term outlook, released in October, calls for deliveries of close to 1,200 new business jets in 2008 (not including bizliners)-less than the 2007 prediction of 1,300 deliveries but still a record number. It also calls for deliveries over the next decade of up to 17,000 new jets worth approximately $300 billion. Helping the industry ride out a recession, said the forecast, will be a backlog that amounts to nearly three years of deliveries.
