Jet Linx Adds Chicago To Growing List of Bases

The company lined up an investor group to form a board for the newly launched Jet Linx Chicago.

Jet Linx Aviation, already among the largest charter and management firms in the U.S., is continuing its expansion with the opening of its 15th base. The company’s newest location, in Chicago, will provide aircraft- management services and offer its membership programs. Jet Linx will serve all the airports in the Chicago area through a terminal that is slated to soon open at Chicago Executive Airport (PWK).

The company has lined up a local investment group to pave the way for its Chicago operation. Backers include Christopher “Topher” Merrill, cofounder and CEO of  private-equity firm Harrison Street, who will serve as chairman of the new Jet Linx Chicago board. The investor group also includes Joe Shenton, a partner of investment firm Summit Trail Advisors. Shenton will also serve on the Jet Linx Chicago board.

Cameron Gowans, a 25-year business aviation veteran, will lead the new base. He joins Jet Linx from JetSuite, where he was vice president of sales and marketing. Gowans also has served as vice president of sales for North America West for Embraer.

Jet Linx Expands in Northeastern U.S.

The company is working on opening locations in New York, Boston, and Chicago, which are expected to be operating by the end of the year.

Also joining Jet Linx's newest base as director of jet card sales is Katy Glynn, who brings 14 years of aviation experience to her new role. She has served as president of the Chicago Area Business Aviation Association and currently is chairman of communications for the association. Her background includes experience in international aircraft sales, airport security, and unmanned systems operations.

The Chicago expansion follows the recent opening of a private terminal in Detroit. The expansion also has included the Northeast with new bases in New York and Boston.
