Magazine Spotlights Homes with Helipads

Attention, helicopter-owning house hunters: In the "Best Properties on the Market" feature in the May 7 issue of The Week magazine, the focus is on homes with helipads. Among the ones featured: a $15 million island estate in Oregon that includes a 1929 Tudor-style main house and a lakefront helipad; an eight-bedroom, $8.4 million Larkspur, Colo., home (in photo) with a nine-car garage; a three-bedroom, $4.275 million home at New Jersey's Liberty National Golf Resort, whose members share access to a helipad; an 8,000-square-foot, $7.25 million home overlooking West Hollywood, with a rooftop helipad; a $3.75 million Florida Keys home with frontage on the Gulf of Mexico and a helipad at the end of a pier; and a $2.9 million Burleson, Texas mansion with a 2,400-square-foot ballroom and a fenced helipad. Looking for something less pricey? The "steal of the week" is a helipad-equipped five-bedroom home on its own acre-and-a-half island in Lake St. Clair, Mich., for $400,000.
