Million Air Gulfport Nearing Completion

Million Air expects its newest, and 29th, FBO to open at the Gulfport-Biloxi (Mississippi) International Airport by the end of June. The $12 million, 52,000-square-foot building sits on a nine-acre site with more than 200,000 square feet of ramp space. The complex features a 12,500-square-foot passenger terminal and 20,000 square feet of hangar space. There's also a 3,600-square-foot customs facility - the first such facility ever to be designed by U.S. Customs, according to Million Air. The FBO's 80,000-gallon fuel farm has the latest in environmental protection equipment, including a fuel-sump recycling system that filters out water and sediment from sumped fuel and returns it to the storage tanks. Because Million Air Gulfport is in a foreign trade zone, inbound international flights will be exempt from the 5.7-cent-per-gallon state fuel tax. Those flying outbound internationally, meanwhile, will receive the double benefit of paying no state or federal fuel taxes, for a combined savings of 30.4 cents per gallon.
