NetJets Begins Aircell Wi-Fi Installations

NetJets has started equipping more than 250 of its midsize and large-cabin aircraft with Aircell high-speed Internet service, giving passengers broadband Wi-Fi access for keeping up with e-mails, surfing the Web and connecting to corporate VPNs. The service uses 3G mobile connectivity technology to beam data to and from aircraft flying over the continental U.S. above 10,000 feet. Fractional-share provider NetJets says it plans to have "all future fleet aircraft" delivered from the factory with high-speed Internet.
