Piaggio Aero Moving Ahead with Jet Project

Piaggio Aero's jet-development program is progressing well, according to John Bingham, president and CEO of Piaggio America and chief marketing officer for Piaggio Aero. According to Bingham (in photo), a dedicated team is now working on the PIXX jet program and the aircraft's design has progressed well beyond the concept stage. However, the company has not yet decided when to launch the aircraft and plans to meet with potential customers to refine the design. Bingham told BJT sister publication Aviation International News that Piaggio Aero is pursuing a clear market category with the P1XX, but is trying to provide an alternative to existing jets, not fill a new niche.
