VistaJet Aims To Be Carbon-neutral by 2025
The company has already replaced more than 90 percent of single-use items across its fleet with sustainable alternatives.
VistaJet has not only committed to becoming the first carbon-neutral business aviation operator by 2025 but has also released a white paper as a roadmap for the broader industry to go beyond its current goal of a 50 percent emissions reduction by 2050. “The industry as a whole must step up to combat climate change and its impact today—it’s the right thing to do and we all have to act now,” urged VistaJet founder and chairman Thomas Flohr.
VistaJet’s carbon-offset program introduced in January 2020 has already helped to make big gains toward the carbon-neutrality goal, with 80 percent of its customers opting to purchase carbon credits to offset aircraft emissions on their flights. The company has also replaced more than 90 percent of single-use items across its fleet with sustainable alternatives. Additionally, it partnered with SkyNRG in September to increase global access to SAF and has invested in flight-optimization technology that has reduced fuel consumption by an average of 8 percent per flight.
