Zetta Jet Expands Global Fleet

The Singapore-based charter operator, the world’s first operator of Ka-band-equipped Global 6000s, has added another to its fleet.

Singapore-based private jet operator Zetta Jet has added a Bombardier Global 6000 to its fleet. The aircraft is part of an order for six of the long-range twinjets that the company placed in service in December 2015. The keys to the aircraft, equipped with Bombardier’s leading-edge cabin entertainment system and Ka-band connectivity, were handed over recently at a ceremony at the airframer’s completions center in Montreal.

Zetta Jet was the first operator to take delivery of a Ka-band-equipped Global 6000 last year. Its recently delivered new large-cabin business jet will be based at the company’s Los Angeles hub.

Zetta Jet hopes to challenge established rivals like Vistajet and ExecuJet in the high-end charter business.

“We have experienced a period of aggressive growth over the past year and a half, and Bombardier’s Global family, and more recently the Challenger 650, have been instrumental in propelling us forward and providing the sought-after, luxury experience that our customers appreciate,” noted Geoffrey Cassidy, the company’s managing director. “The high average utilization rate of our fleet is an indication of our company’s strong performance, and we look forward to working with Bombardier toward continued growth and an even brighter future.”

FAA-certified Zetta Jet was the first Part 135 operator authorized to conduct polar flights, enabling it to optimize routes without limitation. It began operations in August 2015 with a single Global, and its current fleet of Globals and Challenger 650s each average approximately 100 flight hours a month. The company also has support offices in Shanghai, Beijing, New York, and London.
